Review: My roommate buys these toaster French Toast Sticks and sometimes offers me one. They taste like honeyed bread to me. In fact, most things that say they are flavored like French Toast tend to taste a lot like soggy bread with honey on them. This is not true of Caribou's French Toast Muffin.
The muffin itself, has a marble cake look to it, infused with cinnamon brown sugar. Moist, not soggy, and crispy on the top just like the French Toast my Dad makes, this muffin is one of the few items I have tasted that lives up to its French Toast Flavor advertisement.
My only problem with this muffin is the maple frosting on top. Though it offers a true maple syrup taste, there is just too much of it and the sugar content overrides the flavor content. I hate it when people do this, but if you see one of these muffins in the case at your local Caribou with significantly less frosting on it than the others, make your barista grab you that one.
Just don't blame me when you crave some bacon or sausage to dip in the maple taste packed inside of each one of these things.
