Review: With a brand name like "Holsum," I should have known better. My second clue was that this peanut butter was manufactured in Waukesha, WI. I come from a suburb of Waukesha called Menomonee Falls. I went to high school there, so I know a little bit about Waukesha and Wisconsin in general. One thing I know about Wisconsin is that we are not known for manufacturing peanut butter. Beer? Yes. Cheese? Yup. Fanatical sports fans? You betcha! Not peanut butter.

This PB looks great because there are so many peanut chunks floating around inside. The problem is that they aren't floating. They are encrusted and stuck in a glob of concrete-like peanuty substance covered in brown oil. It took me a full 5 minutes to mix this peanut butter down to a spreadable consistency. I'm not exaggerating. I had the jar on the ground and I used my left hand to hold it still while I was putting some serious leverage on the knife with the other. This stuff was a workout just to get it to an edible state. Too much work for a simple PB sandwich. Sorry Holsum! I don't know how this can be anything near holsum if it takes the average human body ten days to digest this brick paste.

Just for the record, Wisconsin is also not known for misspelling things in stray and mangy attempts to be cute, though Waukesha may be if this stuff stays on the market.

I guess I'm a little late to the party but this is my favorite peanut butter! Maybe it is the fact that you have to mix it up? Heaven forbid you had to spend 5 minutes to mi it up. All natural peanut butter is like that.
